Terms

Short version: donelog is a beta. It costs nothing while it’s in beta, it may break, and your record is yours.

Draft. These describe the beta as it runs today. They have not been reviewed by a lawyer, and they do not yet name the legal entity you’re agreeing with. Both need doing before general availability.

The beta

donelog is in beta, open to anyone with a GitHub account. While it is, there is nothing to pay. We may change how it works, pause it or end the beta; if we end it, we’ll tell you first and give you time to export your reviews.

Your account

Use your own account, for your own work. Keep your sign-in secure, don’t share it, and don’t link anyone else’s laptop to it. You’re responsible for what syncs from the machines you link.

Your record is yours

You own what donelog keeps about your work. You give us permission to store and process it only to provide the service to you: to show you your record and write your reviews. We claim nothing else in it and use it for nothing else.

Your employer’s code

donelog is built so that your code never reaches us, but the CLI does read it on your laptop, and with analysis on it passes it to Claude Code on your own Claude account. Whether that is allowed under your employment agreement and your company’s rules on code and AI tools is yours to check, and you agree not to use donelog in a way that breaks them.

Using it fairly

Don’t try to break, overload or probe the service, reach anyone else’s data, or send it anything other than what the CLI sends. We may suspend an account that does.

Leaving

You can stop at any time. Ask us to delete your account and we will, with everything in it: see Privacy.

No warranty, no liability

donelog is a beta, provided as is. We don’t warrant that it will be available, accurate or error-free, and the notes and reviews it writes are drafts for you to check, not statements of fact about your work. To the extent the law allows, we’re not liable for any loss arising from using it. Nothing here limits liability that can’t legally be limited.
